Concept
At the intersection where the natural meets the man made, the center of a city block is reborn as public space for quiet contemplation and meditation.
How does an inherently private function occur in a public space?
Public space is permeated with private moments in forms such as paths that lead to dead ends, seating designed for the individual, and a circulatory path that prioritizes movement over stagnation. These design elements embrace the dichotomy and irony of public meditation, expressing both the introverted nature of self reflection and the extroverted necessity of reaching out to possible users.
